The rest of it would be a lot of work for something that may not get used by most players, and could slow the game down with constantly checks against the data for each Sim as to how they're supposed to react. That's where it'd go all wrong for Maxis. And if a sim Doesn't Do something (like drink booze) it would automatically exempt them from that tradition if it was part of a holiday- it would grey it out like 'Goopy ignores this tradition- from Does Not Drink'

I'm sure you guys can think of more possible traits/options- but I think this is a really cool option because that way you could create made-up cultures as well as replicate real ones. Like, you could be asked to choose between the following in Create-A-Sim- NOT as traits but as a drop-down customizable menu like the gender system:Дefault/Pescetarian/Vegetarian/Vegan (move vegetarian from taking up a trait slot to being part of culture)Дefault/Does Not Drink (will never autonomously drink alcohol and maybe gets sick/sad if they do)Дefault/No Coffee/No Caffeine (see above re: alcohol no caffeine would exclude tea as well as coffee)Дefault/Likes Spicy Food (automatically has a tolerance rather than building it up, and maybe a special happy moodlet?)Дefault/Can Use Chopsticks (again, automatically rather than having to learn)Дefault Speaking Voice/Louder Speaking Voice/Softer Speaking Voice (lookin' at you, Italians)ДЄnd maybe you could create some preset cultures that automatically have a certain set of traits just for convenience. So that got me thinking- what if we treated it the way the gender options are- more a la carte than package deals. For example, as a woman of Jordanian and Moroccan descent, if I selected what would probably be the 'Middle Eastern/North African Culture' as a package deal for my simself, I would probably get a lot of things that aren't true for me because I'm an Episcopalian, not a Muslim- I don't eat halal, I don't wear a hijab, I drink alcohol, etc. Selecting from presets doesn't make sense.
